Devante Swing is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer, best known as a member of the R&B group Jodeci. He was born on September 21, 1969, in New York City, and grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Devante formed the group Jodeci in the late 1980s with his brother Dalvin and two friends, K-Ci and JoJo. The group's debut album, "Forever My Lady," was released in 1991 and became a commercial success, reaching No. 18 on the Billboard 200 chart. Jodeci went on to release three more albums and had several hit singles, including "Stay," "Come and Talk to Me," and "Feenin'."
Devante was the main producer and songwriter for Jodeci and is credited with creating the group's signature sound, which blended R&B, hip-hop, and gospel influences. He also produced and wrote songs for other artists, including Mary J. Blige, 2Pac, and Mariah Carey.
In addition to music, Devante has also made a few acting appearances, including a role in the film "Streets Is Watching" and an appearance on the TV show "Moesha."
While Devante has largely stayed out of the public eye in recent years, Jodeci reunited for a new album in 2015 and has continued to tour and perform.
